Cranioplasty

Cranioplasty

In patients with high intracranial pressure (due to a stroke, brain injury or haemorrhage) the most common treatment is a decompressive craniectomy. After 6-8 weeks the brain oedema regresses and the patient can, thanks to cranioplasty, have a normal skull shape again. A special implant from hypoallergic material can be individually prepared for each patient in order to give him a normal life (as possible) again.
